Hello Europe ❤

It sure was a rocky start to this beautiful journey but we made it! A few whirlwind days of packing in sight seeing and traveling.  Because of our delay, we unfortunately only had one day in Copenhagen (we arrived at 230 am on 12/21) before taking an early morning flight into Brussels on 12/22.  Copenhagen was so amazing and the people were gracious, offering us directions whenever we seemed lost (though being lost is my favorite way of discovering little gems in a new city).  There are bikes EVERYWHERE, and that’s coming from someone who lives in a bike town 😊. There’s literally more bikes than people here, so we decided to make this our preferred transportation for our day in Copenhagen.  The city was festive and full of holiday markets and decorations.  And the food was sooooo good, we biked over to the Copenhagen Street Food market, it reminded me of Portland food carts.  It’s an amazing indoor facility that offers all kinds of food trucks and local beer/drinks. If you’re ever in Copenhagen I highly recommend this place! We made time for Tivoli Gardens which definitely put us in the Christmas Spirit, we strolled around the grounds admiring the lights and drinking hot spiced wine… and before we knew it we were up again with a delicious early morning danish (certainly still jet lagged) and on our way to Brussels.

  1. Merry Christmas Jonathan and Elyse! Sorry that you got delayed, but so wonderful – truly wonderful – that you’re now there at such a wonderful time of the year! LOVE this blog and the pictures – thanks for doing this so we can all vicariously join in the fun and wish we were with you!

      1. Hey Jonathan – I whipped your mom and Michael badly in Liverpool just now!! And, I hear that Elyse was on to Michael when she first learned this game last year – with how quickly he picks cards up so sneakily! Good for you Elyse!
